Would be pretty unusual to get your menstrual cycle 1 month postpartum. Could just be postpartum bleeding. Would mention the bleeding during the exam or postpone a week or two. If your wife is having a lot of bleeding still she should really consult her midwife or OB. If she is breastfeeding it is definitely not menstrual cycle (wouldn't be menstrual cycle even if she wasn't breastfeeding) and heavy postpartum bleeding 1 month later should be checked out. If it is just spotting that is ok. Sorry to go into so much detail but this may be your first child so wanted to clarify a few things.
