Medical done in Europe and processed by a London office

Hi there,

I will be applying for sponsorship under common-law and I talked to a doctor in my country that is assigned to conduct the medical exam. He mentioned that the results are first sent to a London central office processing the results and it takes 3 months to process the results.
Because of that, I am not sure when our application can be sent in: do I have to wait approximate 3 months after the exam and then send in or can we send it in right away after the exam is done because I will get the receipt from the doctor anyway?
We will be applying outland, so my medical will be checked in the step 2 by the visa office so I guess by the time we send in, by the time the sponsorship gets approved and by the time the file will be transferred to the visa office, the London office should have processed the results already so that the visa office can see the results, right?
Please help!

You send in the application when it is complete - that is, when the doctor gives you the receipt (IMM 1017). Three months would be unusually long, but it is possible the regional medical centre might take that long. The results will then be transferred to your GCMS file (normal immigration). This is all fairly standard.

Bottom line: send in your application as soon as you have all the paperwork. Don't worry about the processing time for your medicals.

For what it's worth, my own medicals took 4 weeks to be evaluated and transferred to my file (ironically, an old file, which is why I learned about this timing).
