Medical covered by provincial health care?

My husband is an American living with me in Alberta. He has Alberta health care and also Alberta Blue Cross benefits from my work.

Does anyone know if his medical exam for immigration would be covered by either provincial health care or Blue Cross, or if we still have to pay for the exam? I haven't had a chance to call the doctor yet to make an appointment for him.

Provincial health care for sure doesn't cover the immigration medical exam.

Employer health insurance may cover a portion of the cost depending on the level of benefits you have, so you will need to call them and ask.

And also, check if he needs the med exam by a specified doctor in the area, similar to what a sponsored person living in the US would have to do.Example, my sponsored wife in Nevada had to see the specified doctor in Salt Lake City. So say you live in Red Deer Alberta, you might need to see the specific doctor on their list in Edmonton.
Not positive for inland applications, just make sure is best.

Yes, all applicants regardless of inland/outland MUST see a CIC approved panel physician. You can access the list from the CIC Website for your location.
