Budget $10K but of course the costs can potentially be much higher if there are any complications.

Are you already in Canada? Even if you have a TRV you can be denied entry. 10k is typically for a vaginal delivery. 15-20k c-sections. If there are any prenatal or postpartum complications there is no limit. Can easily get very expensive. You still have to pay for routine doctors appointments, labs, scans, etc. Not all hospitals accept foreign nationals as non-emergency patients. Most hospitals want a large deposit. Many OBs do not accept private pay patients because they already have a full practice and are supposed to prioritize OHIP patients.
