I got medical date. Just curious to know what all tests will be conducted for me. And, are these tests same if I sponsor my parent?

I haven't been through the process, but have done a lot of investigations.... this link will take you to the instructions the DMP is supposed to follow:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/publications/dmp-handbook/appendix-02.asp

If you continue to the subsequent appendices you can see examples of some of the specific checklists. Not all of them are used - it seems they are only used if there is something flagged in the initial questions.

From what i understand the basic tests are the 'same' from everyone regardless of class of sponsorship, but that if you are exempted from inadmissibility (spouse or dependent child) then you will likely have less non-basic exams.

The tests are also region specific and one area might have different tests based on regional prevalence for different ailments / diseases.

Like I said - my family hasn't yet been through the medical exam, so I'm also looking forward to answers to this question from those with experience. It would be good to know from those with experience if the info in the above link matches the actual process experienced. ?

I had my medical done in September here in Toronto.

I initially saw the doctor who asked me a load of questions concerning my past medical history, whether I've ever been in hospital, ever come into contact with anyone with TB, had any history of serious disease in the family etc etc etc. He did a general physical examination - looked into my eyes, ears and mouth, checked my reflexes, checked my breathing.

He then sent me in to see the nurse who did my blood test (I know they were testing for HIV for sure but I think they also tested for a number of other things), she took my height and weight and asked me to do an eyesight test (if you wear glasses you need to bring those). I also had to give a urine sample.

After this part they gave me Copy 2 of the IMM1017 form tp include with my application and sent me to the nearby hospital where I had my chest x-ray done. It was all completed in about 2 hours. The DMP said my results would arrive in Ottawa within 2 weeks and they would then send them on to London for me.

Hope that helps! If you have any further questions feel free to ask.
