Sponsoring my mainland Chinese wife to come to Canada, and just received an email beginning "The processing of your application for permanent residence in Canada is almost complete. You must complete the following steps within 30 days in order for our office to issue your Confirmation of Permanent Residence and, if applicable, your permanent residence visa..."
Couple questions:
1) Does this essentially mean her PR application has been approved, and just has to be stamped in her passport? Or is this still an intermediate step (e.g. might we still have to do an interview? send other documents?)
2) After we send her passport, any indication how long this will take for processing? This will be at the Beijing visa center. We're hoping to go to Canada ASAP on her already-obtained visitor visa, and will have to delay our flight if this processing takes a long time. We were originally planning to wait for her approval in Canada, as we were expecting it to come within 6 months but not quite this early. Happy surprise, but may have to change our plans a little to work with the timeline!
Thanks!
