Im in the process of applying to work and immigrate to canada but i have juat recently got married in cuba we are from the uk. We havent recieved the marriage certificate yet as it can take up to 6 months. So do i apply in my wifes maiden name and if so what w ill happen when we recieve it? Will it make the application complicated?

As far as I know documentary evidence of your marriage is mandatory here, otherwise it's called a common-law partnership and you will have to provide additional evidence of cohabitation for at least 12 months prior to your application.

If one's name/surname is change during the immigration process it is not a big deal to update this information by sending new photocopies of passports, updated application forms and so on. This can be done later once your file is transferred to responsible visa office.
