In the article linked below, McCallum says that his "single top priority is to reduce those backlogs and to reduce the processing times". If their intention is to reduce backlogs, does this mean that they're going to put new applications on hold until the backlogs are cleared? My application was sent in December 2015 and was transferred to London VO in February 2016. Isn't my application also part of the backlog?

Probably but do you even believe every promise your government in your home country makes. Making a promise and achieving are two different things.
 
You mean to say that they probably are going to put all new applications on the back burner until the backlog is cleared? My app is at London VO and it might take them a year to do this...
 
How did you make the leap to a freeze on new applicants?
