Hi,
I have an MBA offer starting Aug'14 from University of Victoria, BC. I have been working in IT Multinationals without any gap for last 14 years after doing my Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical. I have travelled and worked extensively in US and UK on IT assignments for around 8 years on separate assignments. I plan to apply for study permit in March with my spouse and two kids aged 8 years and 4 years. I have sufficient funds to show to VO and maintain my family for the MBA duration and therefore I can solely concentrate on studies. I would be grateful if members in this forum can answer my below queries -
a) What is the probability of getting study visa with family ? I am not in a position to travel alone. In terms of home ties, I can show good paying stable job, clean travel history to US and UK, two property in my name and sufficient liquid funds. I have bachelors degree so getting Masters degree is a natural progression. On the flip side , I intend to go for master after 14 years of employment. Any other point I should be cautious about while filing for permit ?
b) I am also hopeful of getting offer From Haskayne School of Business for MBA. How would UVic MBA compare with Calgary MBA ? What would you recommend given my fairly good experience in IT . Personally, I would like to stay in Vancouver but job and salary prospects seem to be brighter in Calgary.
c) Finally, I plan to get visa stamped before the FSW program opens in May. Assuming my occupation would appear in NOC, I will apply for PR in my home country. I would still fly on study visa in Aug'14 while the FSW PR application is in progress. What happens if the PR application is successful? Are there any pitfalls in this approach ? Would this create a problem during my study or PGWP or any stage thereafter?
Many thanks for your inputs.
