Hey Folks

The CIC may have stopped processing study permit applications after March 18 in India. I've not seen any new post or thread on study permit approval. According to the press release, the processing of study permits for students will continue in anticipation of the fall study term

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/notices/trv-processing-covid.html

This means they have deliberately ignored or chosen not to mention about the applicants that are awaiting visa approval for May 2020 intake. In this situation, CIC may have three options

1. Delay decision - they are doing it probably because of lockdown in India; visa officers can't work from home
2. Approve visa with the condition to defer program for next intake
3. Suspend application without any decision which is unlikely to happen

Please update here if you have received study permit decision after March 18 or any news with the authentic source. Please also mention the date when you applied, SDS or non-SDS, online or paper application and embassy location in India.

Looks like the decision is pending in most cases and will be on hold till further notice. With the current state of India it is safe to say that we can expect activity from the Visa offices post mid May.

From 23rd March to April 6th, I do not know anyone who got a visa. No posts of any visa decision (approvals or rejections) were made on any forum I checked.

From 6th onwards, some reports starting coming in.

From the link you gave, it looks like study permits are going to be put on priority now.

10th-13th April in Canada was a long weekend and the offices only open today.

We must wait until Saturday for some more results.
