Hello there,

So, I am being sponsored by my Canadian common-law partner very soon (tomorrow) :D I am also applying for an open work permit. Now I'm pretty confident that the open work permit comes to $255 and the sponsorship fee is $75 and me the principle applicant have a $475 fee for my PR application.. So a friend of mine is telling me there is another $550 fee for the actual PR card... And now I am confused. Is there another fee!? Helpppp :(

What I think I should be paying:

$475 - PR application processing fee
$75 - Sponsorship fee
$255 - Open wp fee

Is this incorrect or correct? (I am the only one being sponsored by my partner - Inland)

Idk what $550 fee your friend is talking about...

You are missing the Right of Permanent Residence Fee though which is $490

It's suggested you pay that upfront with all the fees to avoid delays.

You should post in the London thread. They should be able to help you more than I can. :)

$1,295 total. $1,040 without the open work permit fee. Do note that it doesn't matter which items you select on the online payment form, as long as you submit a receipt with your application totaling $1,295. If there are payments in excess, CIC will send a refund check.

Hi There Guys,

I am about to submit my spouse sponsorship - conjugal partner application.
And I am confused on the fees.

I am paying through online:

What should i fill out on the online payment?

Sponsorship application (per application) - $75
Principal applicant - $475 /or Spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner - $550
Family member of the principal applicant who is under 19 years of age, unmarried and not in a common-law relationship OR is 19 years of age or older who has been unable to be financially self-supporting since before the age of 19 due to a physical or mental condition - $150 (because my partner has a kid)

I am confused if i should pay Principal applicant - $475 or Spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner - $550

Please advice,
Janix

Completely irrelevant, I know, but in North America, it's a math test, not maths.

You cut off the key words
Spouse, common-law partner or conjugal partner of the principal applicant - $550
This is in cases of sponsoring your parents, one will be the principal applicant and the other will be the spouse of the principal applicant. If you are sponsoring your spouse, they are the principal applicant and you pay the $475.

If it is just your spouse coming you pay the $475 and the $75 sponsorship fee. You also have to pay the rtpr fee which is $490, but you can pay that now OR later when they ask for it, so a total of $1040.

Either way is actually correct to say... I'm assuming they're not from NA if they say maths. Is it really a big deal?

Oh I see..
thanks Mapleson and shortyp2000..

Just a follow up question,
My partner has a kid and he decalared her kid as her dependent but not will be coming with her in Canada.

Should I include her kid on the payment fee? that's $150.

Thanks in advance!

No its not, bigredmoose was just pointing it out, no need to get defensive
