Hi, posting on behalf of my friend who is in Iran right now and is looking to come to Canada on a study visa.
My friend is a Masters Graduate in Chemistry from a university in Iran. He would like to move from Iran and come to Canada for immigration. He is not eligible to apply through Express Entry right now, so his ideal route to Canada is by pursuing further studies.
My friend is confused about what kind of degree to pursue. He is worried that if he pursues a Post Graduate Diploma, his study visa application will be rejected by IRCC because it is not considered an advancement in his education (as he already has a Masters degree). He has limited funds so he prefers to study in an affordable institution. His objective is to pursue a degree that is at least 2 years in length so that he can qualify for a 3 year PGWP. Additionally, he does not want to pursue a PhD.
Kindly advise what type of degrees he should look at to secure his study visa in Canada. Thank you.
