Should we get married in India ? What the the documents we need to furnish and where should we furnish details.?? I am doin my baechlor degree here (BBA) here in India and also working (been working for 3 years), will it be considered a valid degree in Canada. ?? What are the other thing i can do to ensure i get decent job in Canada?? Do i need to learn French to fetch a dcent job?? How much money should she have to sponser me ? Does she needs to have house on her own name to do that because right now she lives with her parents because she is working and also doin her studies .. these questions are be troubleing us a lot and we simply can't wait to be with each other as soon as we complte our studies . bosco99,
Best thing to do is to start reading...

http://www.cic.gc.ca/

Once you have a better idea of what's ahead for you, read through all the forum threads here in this site. Most questions you have will be asked and answered here, somewhere ;)...

If you have any further questions, after reading on the CIC website and here in the forum, ask away!

Good luck and welcome to the forum!

First of all, as a Canadian PR your new wife will be able to sponsor you, but she will have to be in Canada to do it. She cannot sponsor you from abroad. Because you are from a non-visa-exempt country, it's highly unlikely that you will be issued a TRV to be in Canada with her - so the two of you will most likely endure a separation while your application for PR is being assessed through New Dehli. The good news is that their processing timeline is 2-6 months, plus add about another 4-6 weeks for the first stage of processing which is approval of your wife as a sponsor through the Case Processing Center in Mississauga, ON, Canada.

Processing fees for a PR visa are $75 sponsorship fee, $475 applicant fee (both non-refundable) and a $490 Right of Permanent Residence fee that is refundable should you be refused or withdraw your application. There are no minimum income requirements to sponsor a spouse but you wife should be able to demonstrate that she is able to support you until you can get a job. How she demonstrates that depends on her personal circumstances . . . if she has savings or assets she could liquidate in Canada, that might work - otherwise, she'll need a job.

As far as being able to get a job once you're a landed immigrant - search this site's index for boards pertaining to settling in Canada.
