marrying a refugee

does anyone out there married a refugee and sponsor them?
Any idea of the process & timeline.

I did not, however, you can expect that there will be extra scrutiny applied to your sponsorship application if your spouse is a failed refugee applicant. You can expect it will likely take a couple of years or more as they investigate to ensure it is not a MOC because of the failed refugee application. If your spouse is not a failed refugee applicant, then I would probably not refer to him/her as a refugee at all because that would bring attention to the fact that all they really want to do is escape their home country.
