Marrying a German in Canada

So, I'm really not 100% sure where this post should go, but this seemed as good a thread as any.

Here's the thing: I'm marrying a German in July, here in Vancouver, and I have no idea where to start with documents and jazz. What'd I need to ensure a smooth marriage-process?

Also, I understand this is a Canadian-based forum, so I get if no one has an answer to my next question, but does anyone know what I need in order to get a German visa? We're going to move there after the wedding (he already has an apartment); and if no one knows that answer, does anyone know where I can go for this info?

I'm afraid I'm kind of clueless...

Thanks in advance!!

Getting married in Canada is quite simple and straightforward. Google it and be sure to read as many sources as you can.

Here is one: http://www.vs.gov.bc.ca/forms/trans-broch-get-marr-eng.pdf

Nationality and status is not a problem for getting married in Canada. Many people all over the world select Canada as a wedding spot due to their landmarks (e.g. Niagara Falls, Banff, etc.) so you can imagine the process is quite simple.
