Marrying a Canadian during CEC application?

Hey all,

Was wondering if anyone's been in a similar boat before? I'm a few months into my CEC application (AOR October 16) and I'm expecting to receive the golden email in the next few months. However, I'm getting married in March to a Canadian citizen.

Will that have an impact on my application in case it takes longer than expected? I've heard that some people have their PR applications cancelled after marriage/have to re-apply. He won't be sponsoring me so just wanted to see if this changes anything.

I know I'll have to provide them with a copy of my marriage licence, new address etc. Anything else I should also prepare to send CIC's way?

People don't get PR apps cancelled for getting married. Just send a Webform with a copy of your marriage certificate and proof of your spouse's Canadian citizenship.

Thanks! A copy of his passport should suffice, right?

I heard a few stories when someone was granted PPR but then after telling CIC that they just got married, it's cancelled... perhaps that's for an outland-spouse situation.

Yes.

The PR app isn't cancelled. If the spouse is not a Canadian citizen or PR, PPR is cancelled and the applicant is required to add their spouse to their existing app.
