Hello,

I lived, studied, worked, and got married in the USA for a about 6years+ Later on my wife became a US citizen. Now, we are thinnking of moving to Canada to live there instead of the USA (there are personal reasons why we do not want to live in the USA).

We moved to my home country of Syria in 2006. We are thinking to apply for immigration from here (from Damascus VISA office). However, I hear very long processing times under the skilled worker catagory.... and we are very skilled with interesting experiences.

Does the fact that my wife is a US citizen changes anything? Is there any advantage/disadvantage to it? Please let me know what guys think about this.

Thanks.

Only means that if she is the principal applicant the application can be made to Buffalo.

We are in Syria right now. Can we apply through Buffalo and we are here in Syria?

It's either one of us. Both of us have B.S. and M.S. from the US and both of us have work experiences. However, I worked in several different types of positions (industrial and educational (university level)) where my wife has only educational experience (university level too).

So, in terms of who has more skills, it is I, the Syrian. In terms who got the US citizenship, then it is her, my wife.

Please let me know about the two possible cases:
1) her being the principle applicant
2) me being the principle applicant

again, we are now both in Damascus, Syria. She can be in the US no problem, however, we have 15 days old little fluffy baby, so any move at this point in time is to be avoided at all costs. I DO NOT WANT TO BE IN THE USA IN THE FIRST PLACE FOR ANY REASON. If she applies as the principle applicant in Buffalo, and if they ask us for an interview, can we have it here in Damascus? Should I call the Buffalo guys and ask them?

1. As she has no skilled work experience, then it is pointless for her to be the principle applicant, so it looks like you will be apply through Damascus.
