Married in 2015 in India, but registering marriage this month 2016. Is it fine?

Me and my wife (Canadian citizen) got married last year in April but could not get our marriage registered at that time. We are planning to get it registered this month. Shall we do that as next step would be spousal visa application? Would there be any issue with spousal visa application due to this gap?
