I am in a sort of weird situation right now.
I was a student in Canada and have applied for refugee. My hearing will be soon but I have two main questions if you may please answer.
Me and my partner (who is on a post-grad work permit) have been in relationship since two years and we decided to get married because his family found out that he was gay and they were forcing him to get married with a girl. We didn't want to leave each other so we got married so no one can separate us nor my family and nor his.
But now I have a hearing soon so I had two questions:
- After the hearing if my refugee is approved, and I apply for a permanent residence then how many months does it take to receive the Permanent Residence for MYSELF?
- My partner isn't planning to apply for Permanent Residence because he can get it by himself BUT suppose if he applies with me based on our marriage then will we receive the PR card together or will he receive few months after me?
