Married Gay Couple Requirements (foreign nationals)

Hello everyone, i’m getting stressed already because of our current situation.

Background first:

Filipina (lesbian) here married to a Brazilian woman for 2 years. We got married in US ( St. Thomas US Virgin Islands) and we have all the documents such as: Marriage Certificate, Marriage License and Apostile.

Situation:
We weren’t able to register our marriage in the consulate of Brazil because of lapsed grace period of 180 days. Also, not registered in Philippines because my country doesnt recogize. Now we would like to apply for Express Entry and declare as a married couple.

Question:
Will Canadian Immigration recognize our marriage certificate even if it’s not registered in Brazil (even if it’s allowed there)?

It will be recognized if it was legal where it was performed AND legal according to Canadian laws.
