I have more than enough points without including my spouse but if I add her I get a straight drop of 20+ points as she has neither ECA nor IELTS. Obviously waiting for her to study for IELTS and then give the exam (and the time that receiving an ECA will take) is far too long and so I am currently submitting my application without including her in it (as in I've rightly stated I'm married but that she won't be going with me)

She doesn't feel comfortable enough to give IELTS as she's not currently confident in her English linguistic abilities while she has yet to receive her MPT results so we can't apply for a Masters ECA either

I too have every intention of bringing her there once I've (hopefully) received my PR in a few months after I land in Canada in the near future

So what kind of documents/certificates will I have to submit on behalf of my spouse as part of my own EE application?

And secondly, even if I am willing to take the drop of 20+ points, can I include my spouse in my EE application without her giving IELTS and ECA?

You will submit the normal documentation everyone else submits, however, you will also include a letter from her giving convincing reasons, why she is unable to accompany you now, probably coz she is yet to complete her course, or that you want to go ahead and settle before she joins you. This is so that she will be included in your file, and anytime you want to file for her, you wont have any issue. As you have already stated upfront why she cannot accompany you at the moment. My friend husband was unable to accompany when she filed, as he was working on a 2 year project and could not be away, this was the same method she used, and she received her visa and copr last month. Good luck with your application

Yes you can do that, but you need to be clear on why have you not included your spouse in the application. That's one the question in your application/ ITA.
Also you need to keep in mind, you need to show adequate funds, once you plan to add your spouse in your application.

If you decide to include her on your application, I believe she will need to get her IELTS (seniors, correct me if I'm wrong) although you can exclude her education degree therefore would not need to include an ECA.

No, Spouse does not need to take IELTS or skill assessment if the PA does not claim points.
But if Spouse want to study and polish her skills, education institutions may ask for the same as one of the admission criteria.

When I tried to include my spouse in the assessment test without her IELTS/ECA, the system said that I didn't qualify for EE

Are you guys certain we can include spouse without ECA/IELTS?

Also, if I apply on my own, I get 478 points however if I include my spouse (without IELTS and ECA), we end at a total of 451

Will 451 be enough to get an ITA? Is it worth the risk?

If your wife does not accompany you, you still have to provide identity documends and PCCs for her, and get the medical exam done. This is done to maintain her eligibility to be sponsored later, and to make sure you are admissibile (if your spouse is not admissible, neither are you).

And secondly, even if I am willing to take the drop of 20+ points, can I include my spouse in my EE application without her giving IELTS and ECA?

It is not mandatory for her to take the IELTs or get the ECA done, so yes, you can still include her. What is your point total if you do?

It would be much better for both of you if you can include her in the initial application.

451 if I include her (without her IELTS/ECA), 478 if I am on own

Also, are you certain I need to get PCC's done for her as well? She hasn't been outside India before (unlike me) so she only needs one PCC thankfully but still that sounds like a hassle

Identity documents are fine as we have those sorted anyways

Also you are right - I would like to include her too but there's a few reasons why we aren't including her atm:

a) She isn't confident enough to give her IELTS anytime soon (not to mention Bangalore IELTS is booked out for atleast next 2 months)
b) She still hasn't received her Masters of Physiotherapy results so we can't apply for her Masters ECA
c) We could technically still apply for Bachelors of Physiotherapy ECA but that would still take like ~6 months (took me even longer to get mine from Uni of Toronto - I'm guessing WES takes around the same amount of time?) and neither of us wants to delay our PR application for that long

If I include her without IELTS/ECA, I guess we won't be getting a PR invite with a CRS total of 451, right?

I think its better you include her without the ECA and IELTS and sit at 451.
Do her ECA from WES to get some extra points.
Encourage her to prepare for the IELTS. Within some months, she might be confident enough.

And even though it's been a while the draw cut off hit 450...you never can tell!

If I wait for her ECA/IELTS then we won't be able to apply for another 6 months/1 year (and then another 6 months or so for the PF formalities to be over) - not to mention we can't even apply for ECA until her Masters degree results are out (and nobody really knows how long that may take)

I don't think either of us has the patience to wait that long to be honest

I think its better that I get to Canada first, get settled and sponsor her in due course instead

I don't think the cutoff has ever reached 451 (from what I gather 453 is the lowest and that hasn't happened in a good long while)

Please do correct me if I'm wrong!

you are wrong. the cutoff has reached 450 twice and 451 once.
So you said she hasnt done her master. Doesn't she have bachelor? You can send only that for evaluation.

I didn't say she hasn't done her masters, she has but she hasn't received her marks yet.

Also the reason we're not sending her bachelor's results for eca is that doing so again for masters will cost too much and more importantly the results for eca will take upto 6 months which is far too long.

When was the last time, the cutoff reached 450 btw?

I think it was october last time it hit 450.

And why the results for ECA take 6 months? I thought it was only 20 days.

create your profile, and include your wife at 451, but also start working on her ielts and eca so that whenever it is ready you can update. and if the points drop to 450 you can get nominated. eitherways you get nominated and your wife also. its a new process for families moving to a new country and leaving all that is familiar behind. try to make sure it is filled with pleasant memories and do not be so consumed with your desires that you fail to see it is hurting the ones you love and who love you too.
