Dear all,
I would like to ask your advice on the following situation:
My same-sex partner lives in Canada as permanent resident just for 1 month as she has arrived recently after her immigration to Canada. I am currently in immigration process under Skilled Worker class and have already received Certificate of selection of Quebec and applied for permanent residence in Canada. I would like to come to visit my partner and get married. After this I would like to stay with her in Canada until the end of my immigration process. I don’t want to change or re-apply for immigration in family sponsorship class or transfer my immigration file from my native country to Canada. Can I just let everything go as it goes? On what legal basis can I stay with my partner and extend my visa for staying in Canada until my immigration process is finished? Does she have to sponsor me for the time I’ll stay in Canada and does she have to show/prove her income?
Thank you for your response
