I recently got married to a Canadian citizen all though we both are in Canada but my immigration is still in process -- and we got married in Ontario- how does this effect my immigration status and will my process as an immigrant still be on and what I need to do now (and ya my marriage registration and cermony is as well done) -thanks . ----------I don't have PR application in process but my study permit expired so I assume I don't have any status. Now I want to know do I need to file an application of PR on behalf of spouse or just leave it like that and candian government will change themselves cuz I got legally married.

Canadian government will not change your status automatically, your canadian spouse has to sponsor you; visit CIC website and go to the family sponsorship page and read in detail.
and u have to apply for an extension of study permit as your study permit is expired and when u receive your new study permit then include a photocopy of that study permit in your spousal immigration application. if u live in canada for the next 3 months after ur expired study permit and u havent applied for a new one, you can be kicked out of canada anytime.

You are now in Canada illegally. If your permit expired less than 90 days ago, you need to apply for restoration of status; if you are no longer studying, you will need to change your status to visitor. If you permit expired more than 90 days ago, you have no way of fixing your illegal status except by leaving Canada.

As said above, your spouse needs to sponsor you for Permanent Residency. Start here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/spouse.asp

Be aware that as you are now illegal, you can be deported from Canada at any time, regardless of your marriage to a Canadian. If you cannot restore your status to legal, you need to submit the sponsorship app as soon as you can, as CIC will usually hold off on a deportation order during the processing.
