Yes you can cancel sponsorship now before sponsored person lands otherwise you'd be responsible for the person for 3 years.sue3131 said:

We heard that NOC 38 list will change, so we are thinking about sending the application for skilled worker now, as a common law, and when the time comes for proof and documents, we will be married. Is this acceptable for the visa office or not?
