Hi All,

I have obtained my COPR already and I am planning to land in Toronto and start the process for PR card. By the way, its my first time in Canada.

There are two things that I need some clarity on

1. I will be staying in Canada only for a week and I understand that my PR card will not be delivered by then. I will be providing a permanent address for the PR card to be mailed to.My friend, who would recieve the card, would then mail it to India. Hope this is fine.

2. Post my return to India, it is possible that I get married before the PR card is recieved. Do I need to inform CIC in this case? Is there any risk involved in doing so?

Please advise.

Hi

1. Yes, that's fine.

2. You can get married. You do not need to inform IRCC. Note that to sponsor your spouse, you need to be residing in Canada throughout the processing.
