Hello,
I'm approaching eligibility for my Canadian citizenship application and would appreciate some guidance on a couple of technical questions:
Marital Status:
In my 2022 PR application, I listed my marital status as "Divorced," which was later updated to "Common-Law" after entering a new relationship. This change was reflected in my eCOPR issued in February 2023. However, that relationship ended a few months later. For the purposes of my citizenship application, should I now list my status as "Divorced" again, or should it be "Single"?
Work Experience:
Over the past two years, I’ve been both employed and self-employed, running a consulting business alongside my job. I resigned from my position in November 2024 to focus on my business full-time. Should I include a letter of explanation to clarify the overlap in employment and self-employment, and let IRCC know I quit my job to focus on the business as part of the application?
Thank you in advance for your help.
