Hi guys, I received my CPR. Now, my girlfriend and I are contemplating getting engaged and married sometime next year before august. My CPR is valid till 1 august 2018. I was wondering if I get married before that, then what happens to my CPR? And how can my partner come to Canada with me? please help guys!!! important urgent

There are two options-
1. You can add her to your current application if you get married before landing. It will take additional 6-8 weeks for you to get Re-PPR.
2. You may have a short landing in Canada. Come back and get married. Then add your spouse through spousal sponsorship which will take upto an year.

is the first option feasible? and will my PR be at risk?? i have got it on my passport and all... so this is what is on my mind now...

I added my spouse using first option. No problem at all. They ll just ask for your passport and cancel the visa. Then they will assess your spouse’s docs and resend your PPR. Both of you can move together then.

How much time did it take for you guys to get visa... and do my spouse also need to give IELTS? and she does not have one year work ex also... although she's a masters graduate and i have applied for her wes eca evaluation...

The only way it will get cancelled is if your future wife has medical problem that is deemed to place a high demand on the Canadian system (approx $6500/year).

ok lets say i got married today... when can i apply for her visa? like today itself or do i need to.wait for sometime? and what docs do i need??
