The flagpoling thing was coming sooner or later. Not surprising.
Think fake LMIAs were also leading to less than ideal candidates being selected while “better” candidates are not getting an invitations. This levels the playing field a bit more but sadly also gives candidates who have been working for an employer longterm and will keep on working for the employer after PR a disadvantage. Trying to weed out the fraud is hard and very labour intensive. Also assume that this will be limited to EE so doesn’t solve the fraud for WPs.
Agree but happy to see any reform these days. On a positive note giving out WPs for only a year may cut down on the value of LMIAs and there seems to be some scrutiny of LMIAs and WPs now. Asylum & H&C programs should be next on the reform list. Would also like to see supervisa visit length return to 2 years without the ability to keep on extending for years. The longer supervisa & PGP quotas are just pushing people to file H&C which are ridiculously expensive to process and defeats the purpose of a PGP quota.
