Many people talk about SOP - WHO is asking it?

Hi All,

I read many people talking about SOP or strong SOP like that. Many are asking sample SOPs.

I didnt find anywhere the need of an SOP.


And the document says dont submit any extra documents.

Can any one share from their experience if an SOP is needed or not?

( PS: I am applying from India under SPP)

you dont need one,.,as u applying for SPP.,.,IF you were applying for university on other hand you will need a strong SOP,.,.FOR THE VO..,that make your case strong.,and also it looks good.,.{good impression on VO}

Will it have a negative impact if we submit an SOP which is not asked anywhere?

if you are applying under SPP.,.you dont need one.,.,as ur application is processed very fast.,.,that is what SPP for.,.less documentation

Its not requirement under SPP.... Yes, nowhere it is asked to write SOP ... But no harm if you submit it along with your documents.... Most of the times you need to clarify things before VO... So, you need it to explain your purpose .....! That's it...
