Manitoba - Highest crime rate???

I was thinking to apply for MPNP, but just Read about Manitoba that it has highest crime rate!!! ???

Manitoba is a safe place to live, you shouldn't worry.

I was fortunate to have a friend host me for 3 months last year, trust me that Manitoba is very safe. The most common problems are petty crime, like anywhere just don't leave your car or personal belongings in a place you shouldn't, it's fine.. Violent crime is low, I'm coming from the U.S. And crime here is far, far higher.

Trust me Manitoba is way much more safer than most parts of the world,..!! I have been here for almost 4 years now. I come from one of the nice/safe cities in India. Crime here has a lot of social factors and tend to happen in particular neighborhoods. This is typical of any north america city ! You will understand that when you live in this culture. The crime very rarely occurs outside specific neighborhoods, rare as in something like 1 to 10 ratio. Its funny how it works, coming from India it was all too strange for me at first. For example there will rarely be any break ins at a wealthy neighborhood , but houses in poor neighborhood tend to have more break ins. I have a friend in police department who explains this well, In developing countries crimes (such as burglary , mugging ) happens as people are in need of money and are sober enough to plan out stuff. In Canada you have disability (govt will give you basic money if you don't have job). However if a person is drug addict (junkie) he will need money urgently to pay for his/her drugs (fix). This person is neither sober enough to plan a hit or patient enough to wait. so the crime happens within his/ her near vicinity. Also due to very little population such a person (junkie) will completely stand out in a neighborhood where he/she does not belong and the police might pick them up on suspicion. So people will be alright as long they use common sense and avoid certain places at certain times of a day.

Its a fact that there are smart and ignorant people in every part of the world ,.. I went to school here and have a skilled job , my wife is from different race/county we met here fell in love got married. I can say for a fact we have never faced any kind of hate. But then again My social circle is highly educated.

I also believe in the saying "When in Rome be Roman, if not then why would you want to be there in the first place !!"

The truth is you'll encounter racism on all corners of the earth. There is no refuge from this problem; however, generally speaking Canada is one of the most welcoming countries in the world to various cultures. While imperfect, it has a reputation of citizens who (and polls back it up) welcome immigrants and want them to be happy and successful within Canada.

Its not true. My friend is there in Manitoba... He stated its the safest and cheapest state in whole Canada. Not to worry at all.
