We are doing outland common law sponsorship to Canada. We got a request for additional documents but the only document requested was to resubmit Schedule A Background IMM5669E. Someone else we know got an additional document request same time as us but for them it was a request for not only Schedule A/Background but other documents to prove things. Does the fact we got no request for anything else except Schedule A mean they are satisfied with the proof we submitted and that there probably will not be a an interview request??
The answer to your question is more "we dont know" than a strong "yes." Even when your online application says, "no interview needed at this time," CIC will qualify that sentence with, "if this changes, we will inform you." Thus, theyre already giving everyone notice that the vetting of your application does not end just because one level has been reached. CIC usually double or even triple checks all application. There have been a few cases where CIC suddenly finds one or more lacking document or proof (that they didnt see before) that they suddenly reverse course and ask for an interview or more documents. The key is preparation. But them asking you for documents means it's moving and that's always a good thing. That is always better than your application getting stuck.
When you get your Visa and COPR, then that's the time you can say no more interview (well, aside from the interview at the point of entry, but that's more perfunctory).
With that being said, all the best with your application. Praying for everyone's app to be approved.
