Maldives on RTD with Etihad

Hi,

i am planning to Travel to Maldives with RTD and I do not have PR yet. I have looked for flights with Etihad with a transit of 14hours in Abu Dhabi Airport in both ways.

can i travel without a transit visa and Can i travel with Etihad with this itinerary to Maldives? Etihad accepting RTD?

Is better to visit at Toronto airport and asked from Etihad airline staff or manager... This is what I did when I was flying to thiland
