In Malaysia, my name follows a pretty common way of a typical Chinese way (eg Wong Ai Lin where surname is Wong and a first name is Ai Lin). However, according to the Malaysian passport machine readable code (MRZ), there is no << sign that separate my surname and first name in the standard way. Hence the visa issued to me has my full name (eg Wong Ai Lin) as surname and left my given name blank!
