Hello,

My brother's wife is in Lebanon. He sponsored her as a spouse and the papers were received by the government 5 month ago. On January 6th it will be exactly be six month since the papers were received by the Canadian government.
Now, the situation in Lebanon is on fire and where the fight is happening is right beside my brother's wife house. She is under a direct threat.
We want her to come to Canada asap and be safe. Is there anything we can do to make the process faster?

Please Help,
Thank you very much in advance.

send a fax to the visa office about her situation.....

In general there is nothing you can do to speed up an application. The visa office here processing the application is Beirut, and there is no reason they would speed up the application of one Lebanon citizen's application, over another.

However you can always send them a case-specific email to explain your situation. There is no harm in trying, although I wouldn't realistically expect any quicker results.

Can she live in a neighboring country temporarily while she waits?

It is really hard, wherever she goes she needs a visa and it will be very hard for her to get it soon. But thanks for the suggestion.

Lebanon is fairly peaceful except for an area near Tripoli caused by the conflict in Syria , therefore I don't think there is a way to speed up the process (look at Egypt as an example), regardless of the unrest in that country and people being heavily affected their processing has not sped up, in actuality it slowed down due to concerns for VO employees and possibility of closing of the embassy.
