Hi Everyone

Im on maternity leave since June of 2014 but my work permit will expire this coming March and I already reach my 4 years of stay here in Canada.
Would i be able to extend my stay in Canada as Visitor permit holder?
Im having hard time to explain why should i need to stay and why i am extending as visitor permit holder.

Hoping to hear from anyone

Are you married to or in a common-law relationship with the baby's father? If yes, he can sponsor you for permanent residence. In that case, it will be good for you guys to submit the sponsorship application before your work permit expires. Once you do that, you can then apply for a visitor visa and say that you have applied for PR and would like to wait for the outcome while in Canada. You can also mention the baby and the need for father and child to have a relationship (best interests of the child).

Anyway, just a suggestion but final decision is yours. Hopefully, other members will chime in.
