Maintaining status in canada

Hello,

I came on a student visa to Canada. I applied my PR at the same time as well. I received my COPR in October 2020 and now waiting for my PR card. I don't want to continue my education. If i quit my studies, would it affect my status in Canada as i don't have my PR card in hand?

Please advice.
