Its very sad ti hear about it. In my opioion nothing can be done about it. If his wife's profession is in the 38 list then she can reapply for the application. this is my opinoin but wwait for the senior members,

This is really sad!
May God give his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss!
This is really a difficult situation. I guess the wife needs to contact the CHC and wait for their reply. I don't think they will refuse the wife and children. They might still issue the visas based on compassionate grounds. Let's still wait for seniors to reply. Sorry again about this ugly incident.

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy with regards to the demise of your partner.
May "Allah", God, bless his soul and grant him mercy in the life hereafter.

Why don't you write to the concerned office and explain the situation and ask them for further steps and advice?

Accept my deepest sympathy.
Please tell the wife of the principal applicant to write to the visa office and attach a photocopy of the death certificate. This is not a common occurence! This is really tough! The CIC might be worried about how the dependents woud cope in canada without the principal applicant but may still have a re-think due to compassionate grounds. Anyone ever had of this before?????? Please share your experience with these people.

Many thanks to all of you ,your sympathy and support.
Lets wait for few more suggestions and will follow from there on

Thanks

Dag

A very sad incident indeed... May Allah have mercy on the departed soul and give courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.

I do not think that there is any thing like "compassionate grounds" in Immigration Process, though the Canadian Govt has recently shown this tendency for its employees (or their families in case of accidental death of employee) who had served in Kandhar Consulate, Afghanistan. These families will still have to undergo certain requirements of immigration criteria.

In your friend's case, one can only pray for something like this to happen. In any case, you will have to inform the CHC, and wait for their decision.

sympathetically,

Manj

I am not an expert at any level for this. But i know a situation which close to this one.

One of my high school English teacher got PR for his whole family and his visa was also stamped on the pp. But before leaving for Canada, he died of heart attack. Later, his wife and two kds decide to visit the local CIC office and CIC office was kind enough to issue them a letter so that Airport immigration let them in without their principal applicant.

And they got in. Now they are all settled and obtained their citizenship. Actually Canadian government helped them a lot after they reached there.

I think the dependents should meet with the CIC consulars or officials to talk about it in great depth.

Just my suggestion.

aakash28 has made a very encouraging suggestion.
I don't have any experience in this but for people to say because the the application is over due to principal applicant's death after visa has been issued seems weird to me. If I were the immigration officer, surely, on compassionate grounds, I would consider these people. I still believe it is not the end of the application for the wife and children of the unlucky man.

I believe so too. I try the compassionate ground route with the visa office.

That sure is sad, I do feel sorry for the applicant and for his family for their big loss, May Allah have mercy on his soul.

is there any link on the cic that explains what happens to the rest of the family in case the main applicant dies?

Note the OP friends was applying in the Skilled Worker class. The article is about a parental family class, a whole different category.
The OP friends application will be most likely refused.
