I just got decision made and I'm hopefully just waiting on my COPR.

Over the summer, I was in Canada as a visitor so I changed my address to a Canadian address. Now, I'm back at my job in Korea. I wrote a CSE explaining that I wanted to keep my Canadian mailing address but change my residential address to my current korean one. I did this because I'm sub letting (its hard to get a short term lease in korea) and I might be moving another time soon.

Has anyone done anything similar? Do you have to be there physically to sign for a COPR?

I looked at Canada Post and it is confusing. I can authorise someone to sign for my mail if it is regular registered mail but I can't if it 'proof of identity' registered mail. I don't know what that is.

I was able to sign for my partner's COPR at the Canada Post office after I showed ID with the same address.

I was in UAE and now in Rome. Have my sister as mailing address in Sask even tho my permanent address is in Alberta. Using the same mailing address for my husband's application to avoid getting anything lost.

Have advised CIC of all my temp physical locations but leaving mailing address as is.

Hope that makes sense,

C.

sweet, that's exactly what i needed to know. On Canada post, it says you can do that with regular registered mail. So, I guess this is the same.
