Does anyone know if "mail forwarding" to an address in Canada is allowed for the CIC letters and in particular for the oath invitation ones?

I believe you pay for mail forwarding with Canada Post and I think it should not be a problem. But keep in touch with CIC call center and ecas so you are always uptodate.

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, but I know that some government related letters, like CRA ones, are not allowed for mail forwarding. I am not sure if the immigration letters are not allowed too for such service.

This is Canada Post we are talking about. I tried it once we paid quite a bit for the forwarding and were promptly forwarded
most of the junk mail but they missed to forward mails from CRA for child benefits, and we had to wait longer to have the
benefits back to the new address!! yes, go with the forwarding, but have a Plan B as well to have somebody check as well...
