Made an mistake on criminal record - what to do

I have bit issue and I am looking for some advice.

I just sent in my CEC application and it was received but I just found out that I made a mistake.

When I received my FBI background check there was arrest and dismissal by the Court on file from 18 years ago. I was in College and was arrested because I refused to leave a bar I was in with some friends. I disclosed it on my application and wrote a statement explaining to the best what I could recall about the event.

In my written statement I wrote that I did not appear in Court, however I just found the file and the Court document shows I pled not guilty. Subsequently the Court dismissed the case at a later date as I explained in my written statement. I never plead it out or was a fine paid. Again the Court just dismissed the case as I only appeared that one time.

So the question I have is do I contact CIC an amend my statement? Honestly I didn't and still don't remember ever appearing in Court 18 years ago and consistent with my written statement to CIC I wrote that "to the best of my recollection" that I did not appear in Court. All other information was accurate.

I don't want CIC think that I was lying or misleading them in any way shape or form so any advice would really be appreciated.
