Lying to a customs agent ?

Say I have to go to British Columbia this month, and it's very important. Now say I have a misdemeanor theft from a few years ago, however I don't believe it shows on most of my records. It happened in Minnesota and can be found under my name on the www.mncourts.gov page. However, the link on the canadian immigrations page requests a copy of your record (from mn) from the MN BCA website. My conviction was not reported to this agency (because I wasn't arrested/fingerprinted) and doesn't show up on the page. I don't believe it would show up on the CJISD record.

Hypothetically of course, if I were to lie when asked if I ever went to court or have any criminal convictions. And some how it does show up and they find out I lied, what would happen ? Do I get turned back, do I get fined, do I get arrested ?

Thanks
