Hello,
I applied for a study permit but my application was refused because i didn't indicate about my previous U.S visa refusal, and now i want to know if there are other main reasons for the refusal since there were many options in the refusal letter, so asked someone in Canada to fill the ATIP form(consent for an access to information and personal information request) to get my personal information, but the UCI number is required so as to locate the file easily. please i need to know if there is any other option to get the UCI number because i lost the refusal letter from the embassy.

THANKS

You could email the visa office and request for a copy of the refusal letter.

As Bs65 has pointed out, you would want to be certain you have not been refused/banned for misrepresentation. If it was a simple refusal (regular grounds for refusal, but no ban for mispresentation) then consider yourself as extremely lucky

Others can comment but leaving out a visa refusal might be considered misrepresentation.
unfortunately for me, i seriously can't explain how i left out the part that asked if i had been refused a U.S visa, maybe i didnt pay enough attention. I have previously traveled to other countries and i saw the part where they asked for travel history and i included them. how i missed the U.S refusal part still does not add up. If i am allowed to reapply, i will make sure i make no silly mistakes and be more careful this time.
thanks

I will email the visa office and hope i get a good response.
and as for the issue of misrepresentation, how do i know if it is just a refusal and not a ban?
After all the other options in the refusal letter, the last option said "i am not satisfied you have truthfully answered all questions in the documents you have submitted in support of your application, as required by section 16 (I) of the IRPA. Specifically, i am not satisfied that the following information is truthful : visa refusal - USA.
You are welcome to reapply if you feel that you can respond to these concerns and can demonstrate that situation meets the requirements"

I remember so well that was the last reason of refusals in the refusal letter i got.
I am guessing that is just a refusal and not a ban of misinterpretation?

thank you so much for your reply.

I believe you have been only refused. You've not been banned for misrepresentation. That's because you did not receive a Procedural Fairness letter prior to receiving this refusal letter, right?

Nonetheless, you need to see if the box for A40(1)(a) has been checked or not in the refusal letter

A40(1)(a) states: For directly or indirectly misrepresenting or withholding material facts relating to a relevant matter that induces or could induce an error in the administration of this Act
