I am taking a sabbatical from y teaching job and will be visiting Canada for 6th months. I have a return ticket and I purchased health insurance for the time I am visiting. My teaching job was cut due to budget cuts and I figured it would be a good time to go visit Canada for 6 months. I plan to look for teaching jobs in the US while in Canada and was wondering if this will prevent me from entering Canada? I am staying with a friend and have financial resources to support myself while in Canada.

So assume you are from a visa exempt country.

So first obstacle even with a return ticket may be you are unemployed so although you should say this if asked by the CBSA officer do not even hint you may look for a job whether that is in US or not given that could also create suspicion you will look in Canada as well.

You are assuming you will be granted entry for 6 months this obviously is not a given and is a long time for an unemployed tourist even if can show funds probably not an issue just be aware.

End of day you probably wont have any issues just pays to be aware that there are things that trigger additional focus, unemployed and job hunting for sure will
