Hello,

I'm in a bit of stressful situation and would really appreciate if someone could help: I landed in Canada in Aug 2012 and became a permanent resident. Due to some work obligations in Europe, I stayed only a few days in Canada, with the goal of moving there in about 2 years. My PR card was sent to a friend's address in Canada 2 months after my landing and he sent it to me here in Europe. Now the problem is: I am now planning to go to Canada in 2 months, and I just realized that apparently my card is lost!! Been looking for it for a week now, can't find it yet! :( So what am I supposed to do now? Should I apply for a travel document and how long does it usually take to get the visa? Furthermore, will they even issue me the travel document knowing that I have not stayed in Canada after landing 2 years ago?!

Thanks so much!

Do you have a passport from a visa-exempt country? If so, then you should be able to board your your flight with that and then CBSA should be able to look you up in the system at immigration in Canada.

if not visa-exempt, you will need a travel document unless you can fly to the US first and drive over the border to Canada. For that, you just need your passport+COPR.
