lost PP,visa,Study permit in USA...

Hi,
My backpack which contains my passport was stolen in San Francisco on Dec24. I got a Travel Document from China consulate, and apply for a reissue of study permit & Visa at VAC Los angles yesterday. A few questions here:

1. Is the reissue would be faster? Any one had similar situation as me?
2. The stuff at the Los angeles VAC said it takes 7 days to process study permit, however, it shows on cic website: 7 weeks... which is true?
3. Did anyone apply study permit at Los Angeles consulate recently and how long it takes to process?

First, if you can, obtain the police report from San Fran which proves that your documents were indeed stolen. You might need it when returning to Canada and they might ask about your lost passport and TRV.

Second, I guess "7 weeks" should be referring to applying for new SP in LA. What you need is a replacement right? 7 days sounds OK.

Thanks man, I already submitted my application with a Case Number provided by the Police Station. Hope it will be OK. Probably I will go back to SF again...
