I lost my permanent resident card yesterday. it was in the back of my phone case, and I lost my phone along with it. I don't know what to do right now, whether I should replace it or wait until it expires because it's expiring very soon on march 16 2016. I saw the application for reporting a lost PR card, and it asks for the card number, but I don't remember my card number.
I also want to ask if I am mean while I am renewing my PR card, will my card be invalided? Or will it only be invalid once it reaches its expiring date?

If you had any communications with cic regarding your pr application before landing it has uci number that is pr card number .If you had satisfied RO then you can immediately apply for renewal.

I dont think pr card is invalidated.you could not reenter canada with expired pr card otherwise things should be smooth.

The PR card number is on the back of the card and is NOT the same as the UCI.
