Lost passport after completing biometrics for Canada Visa

Hi,
I have just submitted the required files and biometrics collection today for my visitor visa, but unfortunately I lost my passport on my way back from the biometrics collection What a bummer

I have requested a new passport from my country's local consulate and should get a new one in 2-3 weeks.
Should I just ignore the request for passport for my current application and start a new application once my replacement passport arrives, or can I update my passport number info on my current application and send out the replacement passport to CIC?

You can send a copy of your new passport by webform to CIC and explain what happened. It will be ok.

If you just recently submitted your app you won't be getting a PP request in the next few weeks. As mentioned submit a webform with a copy of your new passport, no need to submit a new app.
