Lost original work permit and have a USA travel planned next month

I have lost my work permit (original one) and I have to travel to USA next month. While I have applied today for replacement, I want to know if I didnt get the replacement work permit till my travel date. Can i travel to USA and come back on TRV. Do we need original work permit at POE?

If you have a valid TRV, then you should have no issues returning IMO.
