Lost my Passport after ITA

Hello dear forumees,

After taking the ielts twice and waited for 4 months for the FBI criminal report to come, finally I got re-invited to apply for permanent resident. Then, unfortunately, my passport got stolen in a car break-in. I lost my book bag and everything inside of it, passport included.

The obvious next step for me is to apply for a new passport, but the passport number will be different (Yeah, I am from China, Chinese embassy won't issue the new passport with the same passport number). After the new passport comes, I can finally submit the ITA application. Right now, I am in the 90 day period of preparing for ITA materials.

So now I am faced with a confusing situation. My IELTS test results and medical report were registered in the old passport number, while I can only submit my new passport for the final visa stamp. Would that be a problem at all? I don't have much faith in the authorities. If they still ask for my old passport, I won't be able to show it. I don't think I need to retake the IELTS test and the medical report, do I?

Maybe I am just panicking for nothing....am I? I wish I am.

Does anyone have the similar situation? I welcome any kind of sharing.

Thanks in advance,

Eddi

No won't be an issue.
The 5th page of your new passport should say "this passport is issued to replace another passport No XXXXXX"
If you are really worried, attach a copy of the police report and a copy of your old passport, if you have those copies, to your LOE
