lost letter of approval.. please help!

Hi to all!

It is truly a blessing that I received news that my son had been approved an extension of his visitors visa until Aug17,2010.

here's the story:
I called CIC-call center this morning to follow up on my son's extension and found out that he got approved!!
The only problem is that CIC-Vegreville sent it to the wrong address!! - I don;t really know why this happened but it is what it is... :mad:
I requested for another letter but the call center agent told me that there is nothing they could do..

What do we do at this point? We are happy that my son got extended but what proof do we show if he would leave and apply again in Canada or to another country?
please help, any information would be appreciated..

Ok lucky for you when I landed yesterday the person up before me had exact same issue as I could hear everything this Is what the immigration officer told this person. It in the system that they have valid status. If you require an extension at the end of their authorized stay period you don't have to include a copy of the previous visa. You just have to apply before ur current status expires. As far as imm is concerned the person has valid status.

When the person leaves keep the boarding pass or any relevant proof of exit to another country. Submit this with new app as proof there was no overstay when previously in Canada. And photocopy any stamped pages In passport since leaving canada
